Hillside Craftsman

Originally built in 1908, this three story hillside craftsman home had beautiful views of San Francisco but the kitchen was dark and had its back to the water, the lower floor had low ceilings and little natural light, and there was no parking. A new garage was added and the front entry reworked to include new stairs and front garden area. Two bright bedrooms with French doors that open to a new deck and bright beautiful bathroom with separate laundry and open stair were all added to the lower level. The kitchen was re oriented to create a water view from the sink and the flow much improved. Part of the wall was removed between the dining room and stair to open up and strengthen the link between the living and dining rooms, and a much needed storage and mud room were created in the space below the new garage. With new bright and light finishes throughout , the house feels brand new, has great flow and really works for an active family.
