The design work produced by Frei Design is primarily residential in nature and is a mixture of new construction and remodels located on the Peninsula, San Francisco and Marin County. Projects range in style from Victorian, Craftsman, Spanish, Shingle, Cottage, French farmhouse, Mountain Chalet and Japanese. The main design goal is to create spaces that have a timeless elegance and beauty that will endure for generations, and that are a reflection of the clients individual personality and lifestyle. Careful attention is paid to the site, scale, proportion, light, flow, details, and connection with outdoor spaces. All projects are designed to be as sustainable as possible both in three dimensional layout and orientation as well as products and materials specified.
Meet Norah
Norah opened her own firm in 2002 after working for various Architects in the Bay Area and graduating Highest Honors with her Architecture Degree from the California College of Arts and Crafts. Her interest in architecture stemmed form a seven year sailing trip around the world where she was exposed to many interesting and artistic interpretations of the spaces we live in; the way they were interwoven with the site and their use of local materials and crafts that combined to reflect the unique personality of the occupants. She is happy to work on residential projects of all styles because it is the people and the design product that are the most important aspects of a project. As a matter of principle all projects are designed to be as sustainable as possible. Raised in Cincinnati Ohio, Norah received a BA in Psychology from Miami University. She lives in Larkspur with her husband and three children. In the calm early morning hours, you will most likely find her rowing her shell somewhere on the San Francisco Bay.
